little stories

4/27/10 - these days, i usually have two kids in tow. it's very rare that i have one child with me on an errand...but tonight jack went with me to cvs. as we were walking in the parking lot, jack started pointing towards our car, whining, saying "jare, jare, jare." poor guy thought that i was leaving jared in the car, but he was fine once i told him jared was @ home with dada.

5/15/10 - i was bringing jared and jack inside and jared was asleep in his car seat. jack started running towards our bedroom screaming "BOD-DE! BOD-DE! BOD-DE!" (i.e. the cartoon, tom and jerry). i told him "shhhh" and whispered "jared is sleeping." so he slowly whispers, "bbbboooodddd-ddddeeee, bbbbbbooooooddddd-ddddddeeeee, bbbbboooooddddd-dddddeeeeee."

5/26/10 - when we were first arrived at my brother's house in  new orleans, his dog, beans, greeted us. beans (currently) gets to jump on furniture (couch/bed etc.). our dogs are not allowed on furniture. apparently, jack is very much aware of this. 5 minutes after we walked in, we were changing jack's diaper on the bed...bean jumped up there, jack pointed at him and kept saying "no-no-no-no-no-no-no-no-no." beans jumped off the bed, but jack didn't quite feel he got the message. jack proceeded to walk across the entire bed (while beans walked around the bed) and shook his finger at him and kept saying "no-no-no-no-no-no-no-no."

6/2/10 - at dinner, jacks always informs us when he's "ALL DONE" (either as a broken record, or if we're lucky, just once or twice). Sometimes, , as luck would always have it (or he's just a smart little boy), he starts doing his tarzan screams after he sees me get up from dinner and put jared in bed. we constantly remind him, shhhh, jared is sleeping. well, tonight he didn't even scream after he i came back from putting jared down, he just whispered "aaaallllllll ddddooooonnnneeee." For whatever reason, he thinks you have to whisper slowly to understand him.


6/4/10 - jared is 8 mths and likes to pull hair whenever it is w/in hand's reach. jared does this often when jack hugs him...as mentioned in prior posts, jack lays on top of him and lays his head sideways (see the many samples below) and wraps his arms around his waist. tonight, jared pulled his hair when jack hugged him and jack set up and gently pulled his own hair to show jared and then shook his finger at jared and said "no-no-no-no-no-no-no-no-no."

  and this is THE EXPRESSION he has on his face every. single. time. he does this. he so loves his brother!

 

 and because i don't have a recent one of jack hugging jared like this, i have to put a different recent brotherly love pic...but first, from the beginning, jack 17mths, jared a few hours old (already an auburn fan! war eagle baby!)

...to a month ago, jack 2 yrs old, jared 7 mths 

we sure do love you both so very much! thanks for permanently enriching your father and i's life forever! we certainly don't remember life without you two turdburglars in it!
