The magic of a Fort

Chunk built a fort in the living room a couple of days ago. The boys loved it. Last night (while Dada was at a concert), the boys were fighting and not sharing the fort. After a warning and then seeing some extraordinary hateful behavior (nothing bad, just typical boy fights but not common in our house....yet, lol), I immediately walked in there, told them to go to time out and took down the fort. Both boys were crying big tears in time-out. They were NOT happy about "Mama destroying their Batmobile!" 

Jack told me all night that "When Dada gets home, he was going to be so mad about what Mama did. And dada was going to build a new fort! And Mama better not tear it down!" A couple of times, I had to address his attitude when it became disrespectful, but most of the night he was just expressing his anger. 

This morning Jack finally got to tell Dada what Mama did, lol. After we discussed the why's and how to share the fort, Dada built a new one...

All is well is this little 5 year old and (almost) 4 year old's world :)
